The Regional Chamber of Bitola is the successor to the District Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bitola since 1963. From 1963 to 1998 he worked as a territorial board of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia. Since 1998 within the Economic Chamber of Macedonia, the Regional Chamber has been established in Bitola which covers the economy of the municipalities of Bitola, Resen, Demir Hisar, Novaci and Mogila. The region of Bitola covers 5 (five) municipalities with a total population of about 140,000 inhabitants. It is located in the southwest part of the Republic of Macedonia and borders the cities of Prilep, Ohrid and Kicevo, to the south with the Republic of Greece and to the southwest with the Republic of Albania. Bitola is the second largest city in the Republic of Macedonia with about 86,000 inhabitants. Spread over an area of 1716 km2, it is located at an altitude of 630 m, the pedestrian area of Baba Mountain, with the peak Pelister. Road network: the region of Bitola is located on the international road K-10 with the M-5 (from Gradsko to the border with the Republic of Greece) connected to the west by K-8 through E-65 to Ohrid. In the Bitola region there are around 5,000 business entities, most of which are micro, small and medium, measured according to the number of employees. The number of active enterprises by cities is as follows: Bitola - 3,957 (6.45% of the total number in Macedonia), Resen - 485 (0.8%), Demir Hisar - 254 (0.5%). The development of cross-border cooperation is one of the goals of the regional development policy and strategic determination of the Regional Chamber in Bitola. In this direction, cooperation was established with several chambers from the neighboring countries and beyond: the cooperation with the chambers of Pozarevac Serbia, and Korcha and Durres R.Albania, Epinal R.France, Chernigov Ukraine and Banja Luka BiH, Kozani, Pela and Lerin, R . Greece with whom agreements for cooperation have been signed.
The Regional Chamber in Bitola is responsible for the following activities: - Issue of certificates of origin of the goods Certificate of Origin and Certificate of preferential treatment Form A; - organize and prepare various forms of trainings (seminars, workshops, etc.) for the needs of the members of the Chamber and other interested entities; - to inform the members and other companies about the trainings that will be organized by the Economic Chamber of Macedonia; - to monitor the current conditions of work and the needs of the members of the Chamber and other entities, in order to propose training on current topics; - in cooperation with the Municipality of Bitola, realization of the concrete activities in accordance with the objectives of the Project Regional Info Pult for business support in the Municipality of Bitola, in order to strengthen the small and medium-sized enterprises, in accordance with the goals of the project; - to prepare information, analyzes, draft acts and other documents of interest for the economy of the region for which the Regional Chamber is organized; - to monitor the current economic movements and the conditions of the economy, to process information data and to propose measures for improving the conditions for managing the region; - to give proposals for initiating initiatives for adoption or amendments of laws and other regulations of interest to the economy of the region; - to establish regular contacts with the companies from the region, especially in the function of providing adequate professional and other assistance; - organize or mediate in establishing contacts between the members of the Chamber.
