A main part of this apparatus is a Quantima inductively coupled atomic absorption spectrometer produced by GBC Scientific Equipment Pty Ltd, Australia. Tha analyses have high precision and reliability, and the quantity of more than 70 elements of Mendele based on standards for each of them can be defined. The sampling is automated and is carried out using the microwave decomposition system of the samples tested - SpeedWave produced by Berghof Ltd - Germany. The application of the apparatus does not only include soil and plant analyses but the analysis of heavy metals in samples of different origins, micronutrients in fertilizers, foodstuffs, feeds etc. Agrolaboratory PLANTIS can perform quality grain analysis using a NIR-analyser as well as microscopic diagnostics of plant diseases and phytopathogens. Soil analyses of the main nutrients and other elements important for plants allow rapid detection of problems in soil fertility and give the correct direction in solving them. Particularly paralelous analyses of both soil and whole plants, including the main nutrients nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, copper, zinc, manganese, molybdenum, iron and the so important soil acidity factor, are particularly effective. Parallel analyzes largely reveal the real problems of soil-plant interaction, which elements are in deficit and which in surplus, among which elements there is a counteraction. On the basis of these analyses, a leaf manure formulation can be developed to balance the nutrition of the crop and to compensate to a large extent for nutrient deficiencies. These formulations can be immediately implemented in leaf fertilizer through the production lines of the Agricultural research and tehnological centre "PLANTIS" Ltd. for crystalline and liquid foliar fertilizers. Thus, in regions with unfavorable soil characteristics for a particular crop, good yields can be achieved. This method of solving soil fertility problems has already been proven in sunflower and corn and is actively developed as part of the activities of the Agricultural research and technological centre "PLANTIS" Ltd. The client of the center receives not only a finding of the problem but also a means of solving it.
