Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA) was founded and operates on the basis of Law no. 10303 dated July 15th, 2010 “On the creation and organization of Albanian Investment Development Agency.” AIDA's main objectives are: attract foreign investment, increase the competitiveness of the Albanian economy through the support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as through innovation. The direct contribution of AIDA in the economic development is evidenced through: Facilitation and support of direct investments in Albania; Increase the competitiveness and innovation capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs); Encouragement and support to exports of goods and services. AIDA offers to foreign and domestic investors, comprehensive support for their investment projects. Its qualified staff assists not only with market analysis, potential sectors for investment, but also with advice on finding suitable properties and locations (greenfield and brownfield), as well as helping to identify new and existing projects to collaborate. AIDA also provides aftercare services aiming to meet successfully the demands of foreign investors after the successful completion of their projects.

Company Services

The objective of the Investment Department is to promote Albania as an investment destination and to facilitate and support direct investment in Albania, through the identification and promotion of investment opportunities, offering services and support to existing or potential investors. AIDA offers additional aftercare services aiming to successfully fulfill the demands of foreign investors even after the successful completion of projects. By putting all our efforts, we help more specifically through, studies, research on the business climate; information about business conditions and opportunities in Albania; contacts within national and regional government agencies - links with potential partners; detailed statistical and survey data about Albania and its key sectors; identification of sites and buildings; project management support throughout the investment cycle. Regarding the strategic investments the FDI Department is able to: Facilitate administrative procedures and reduce legislative complexity for strategic investments Due diligence procedure (AIDA completes the due diligence within 30 days of the submission of an application) Support with the necessary infrastructure Provision of immovable assets to develop and implement strategic investment projects

AIDA services consit on strengthen SMEs’ competitiveness by providing free support through a variety of services: Market analysis; Identification of international trade flows, major importers, tariff barriers; Networking; Identification of foreign partnerships/importers/new technologies; national leader for Enterprise Europe Network (EEN: www.een.al); Special grant for Albanian companies; Competitiveness Fund; Financial participation in export related activities; Innovation Fund; Grant for innovative technologies and audit; Managerial support; Templates for business plans and starts-ups, facilitation of training in management, innovation audit; Administrative procedures; Identification of certifications needed to export; export and customs legislation, contacts of public agencies & ministries; Event management; Promotion of B2B events, international fairs, donors’ initiatives, supporting business associations.

BRIC was established as a support body to promote and strengthen the innovation capacity of Albanian enterprises, bring them fully into the innovation dynamics and fill the existing gap in the National Innovation System. The BRIC is the executive body whose aim is to deliver the programmes of the Business Innovation and Technology Strategy (BITS) and Business Innovation Technology Action Plan (BITAP) approved by the Albanian Government. BRIC’s role is to build and promote an innovation culture among businesses in Albania by raising awareness about the benefits of innovation, technological upgrading, through the establishment and implementation of activities regarding innovation. BRIC aims to raise the competitiveness of SME’s in the local and European markets. BRIC is considered to be a focal point for the coordination and delivery of business innovation and technology services and initiatives for the target group of SMEs. The BRIC regularly communicates with SMEs which enables it to understand their needs in order to address them either through the Innovation Fund or any other European funded initiatives. BRIC provides services to enterprises related to innovation and technology transfer, including support for incorporating research into products and processes and development of innovation and technology within a business and market-oriented perspective.
