The "Birra Korça" factory project was designed by an Italian designer in 1928, with the decision of the then Parliament and with the approval of King Zogu I, with documents signed by Pandeli Evangjeli, Mit'hat Frashëri and Mano. The brewery started to be built in the Korça Prefecture in October 1929. "Birra Korça" was founded by Italian investor Umberto Umberti from Valdobjoden province of Venice and Selim Mborja from village Mborje of Korça. Thus, "Birra Korça sh. a. ", with a capital of 950 000 gold francs, of which 600 000 francs belonged to Umbertos and 350 000 francs belonged to Selim Mborjes for the site of the factory. The projected production capacity was 20,000 hl beer / year. The factory produced blond beer, black, water "crystals" and ice. The technological process of brewing beer for the first time was decided by German engineering engineer Hebard Geraldine, a process that is maintained today. In 1942 the construction of a maltese plant was started, which ended in 1943. After World War II and the establishment of communist rule in Albania on January 11, 1946, the "Birra Korça" factory was nationalized, based on the laws in force. Production capacities over the years have been: in 1943: 600 hl, in 1939: 10 000 hl, in 1944: 8 100 hl, in 1957: 46 300 hl, as well as in 1958. While the maximum production of 52 000 hl was reached in 1960, at which time the "Birra Tirana" was built in Albania. After the liberation of the country, productivity grew thanks to some reconstructions in the years 1955, 1957 and, most importantly, in 1965.
